"At the Victim-Offender conferenece, an agreement was made for the offending youth, who had entered a neighbors home and stolen some items, to mow the victim's lawn four times. From the beginning, the youth told me that he was amazed at how nice the victim treated him when she had every reason to be angry with him. Throughout the process, and each time he went to her home to mow the lawn, they had many opportunities to talk and a positive relationship formed. The vicitim is a grandmother and he felt like she treated him so well. She even baked a cake that they ate on the last night of him mowing her lawn. He said it was delicious! The grandmother also helped him with transportation to get back and forth to her home. Upon completion of the agreement, she told him that if he wanted to earn some extra money he could come back and mow her lawn again. He stated that he would definitely keep in touch with her. I wanted to pass this on as it is truly a testimony in how your program has helped so many people...your hard work and efforts have paid off!" Juvenile Probation Officer
